Rich People Are Destroying Lives Through Greed

The Rich Need To Be Held Accountable For Their Actions And Punished To Fullest Extent of The Law.

They say "The One With The Gold Makes The Rules" That is so true in many ways, the powers to be make rules and laws and enforce them on others but who is watching those who are in power? That is a common problem in many countries especially in the developing world people of means and power are exempt from persecution because they can buy and bribe judges and heads of states in order to get away with crimes or get special favors.

In a increasingly corporate world the wealthy and powerful can influence lawmakers and politicians and judges in getting them to grant them favors or contracts at the expense of the public. More white collar criminals get away with more crimes then petty criminals and many times with little to no jail time. Why is it that the law applies to some people and not to others? Why is it that a rich person is treated differently than a poor person for the same crime?  As a society we cannot overlook those with money or allow them to receive treatment for being wealthy and connected we cannot partiality.

This is why our citizens do not trust the courts or the justice system because unfortunately there is no impartiality and those without means don't get a fair trial or get due process and have a higher chance of getting convicted while those with means get a lesser sentence or simply get acquitted altogether when accused of the same crime.

There needs to be a special committee or watch dog to make sure that those in power are held accountable and cannot be bribed by those who think they are above the law. If we continue to let the rich get away with crimes and not punish them accordingly then the integrity of the Rule of Law becomes blurred we become a plutocracy ruled and controlled by Oligarchs.
